Eastbourne’s build up to Halloween continues this week with a number of events.  Don’t just take our word for it though.  Says positively giddy, Eastbourne Borough Council Cabinet Member for Tourism, Neil Stanley: ‘There is so much going on in Eastbourne for half-term and Halloween – families really won’t know what to do first!’  Indeed.

On Tuesday 26th and Wednesday 27th at Towner, creative families are invited to create a giant board game about an imaginary place.  With potentially Jumanji-esque, consequences, gallery visitors will be able to play the game throughout the week.

The Napoleonic Redoubt Fortress awaits those with a head for heritage this week, hosting as it does a Halloween trail which will mean the negotiation of various exhibition rooms and tunnels.  Children will be able to hone their mask-making skills along the way.

If you feel like celebrating Halloween in a more aquatic style, Eastbourne’s Sovereign Centre are holding a Halloween H20 party involving pool volleyball, flume races, a disco and dance competitions from 5:00pm on Friday 29th.

For the weekend, listen to frightful tales of ghostly sightings on the Downs while on a Beachy Head Halloween Ghost Walk.  Walks begin on Sunday 31st at 4:30pm, 6:30pm and 9pm outside the Tiger Pub on East Dean Village Green, with an adult-only walk at 11pm.

Also on Sunday, exorcise (exercise?) those demons on the seafront at Fisherman’s Green with Ride N Joy’s Quadricycle Day from 11am.  Discounted bike hire and toffee apples are on offer.

From 6:30pm until 11:00pm on Saturday, the Observatory Science Centre in Herstmonceux, just outside Eastbourne, is giving visitors the chance to be wowed by the views through some of the country’s largest telescopes.  Naturally, children can make flying bats and screaming balloons.  Well, it is still Halloween.
