Internationally acclaimed musicans Beirut visit Eastbourne this summer for an exclusive one-off concert at the Winter Garden.

The gig on August 27 is Beirut's only scheduled English gig show year.

Beirut are the project of New Mexico's Zach Condon, and have received huge acclaim for their mix of European folk music (particularly Klezmer and Balkan influences) and pop songwriting. Their 2007 album The Flying Cup Club (4AD) made Album Of The Year lists in many magazine and newspapers, including the NME, Uncut and Q.

Beirut's latest EP March Of The Zapotec is out now on Ba Da Bing! Records, and sees the band exploring Mexican sounds with the help of a 19-piece group of local musicians Band Jiminez.

Thanks to some smart booking by Brighton promoters Melting Vinyl, Beirut play the Winter Garden on Friday August 27. Tickets cost £17, from Ticketweb.
