Fat Tuesday
Music, masks & Mardi Gras
Hastings adds a new musical event to its calendar this month, with a host of pubs and venues coming together to celebrate Fat Tuesday.
On February 16, many of the town's finest musicians will be performing along a trail of bars leading from the Old Town into the Town Centre. All the shows are free, with collections made throughout the evening in aid of St Michael's Hospice.
Confirmed acts include Blair Mackichan, The Cajun Dawgs, Colonel Mustard, King Size Slim, The Lucky Ones, Sam Wills, The Rufus Stone Band and carnival drummers Sambalanco.
Host for the evening is the Hastings Observer's Rob Alderson, and music fans will joining in the entertainment by donning masks and costumes in the spirit of Mardi Gras.
Fat Tuesday kicks off in the Old Town at 7pm, February 16, with gigs at the First In Last Out, The Anchor, The Dragon Bar and The Jenny Lind, before revellers reach Pissarros in the Town Centre at 9pm.
The night concludes with a party in The Brass Monkey from 11pm, with more live music from Blair and The Hastings Horns.
