Two regional organisations are vying for a share of National Lottery money in today's People's Millions phone vote.

Eastbourne's Uptown Players are hoping for funding for their Frontline Eastbourne project (as reported previously). The Uptown Players intend to use drama, poetry and art to bring people of all ages together to examine the impact of WW2 on Eastbourne, to increase awareness of the conflict amongst younger people and to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Britain.

In today's vote, they are up against The Bluebell Railway charity, who are seeking assistance to make one of their train carriages accessible to disabled people.

Short films on both projects are screened on ITV's Meridian Tonight this evening (Wednesday), between 6-6.30pm.
