Filmspot, a new touring cinema for Sussex, launches tomorrow (Saturday), with special Hallowe'en screenings at Newhaven Fort.

Filmspot will visit heritage sites across the county over the next 12 months, bringing films of all genres to audiences in unusual locations.

Newhaven Fort visitors can take in a free screening of the classic 1931 James Whale version of Frankenstein (PG), starring Boris Karloff as The Monster, at 2pm, October 31.

In the evening, Filmspot will show Spanish horror The Devil's Backbone (El Espinazo Del Diablo) (15), a ghost story set during the Spanish Civil War, directed by Guillermo Del Toro (Pan's Labyrinth, Hellboy). Tickets for this film cost £5.50.

In addition to the films, the Fort will be brought to life throughout the day by atmospheric music, and actors in spooky costume.
