Kids learn Lifeguard skills.
Eastbourne youngsters are being offered lifeguard courses in August, learning valuable safety skills for the summer holidays.
The Tyro Lifeguard Course is open for kids aged 8-12, able to swim at least 100m unaided. The 3-hour course costs £15, teaching top tips for personal survival, rules of beach safety and basic rescue skills.
Eastbourne Borough Council Cabinet Member for Tourism, Cllr Susan Morris explained, 'With millions of visitors to the town every year, our seafront is always very busy so it’s important to stress the importance of being safe on the beach. With the Tyro Lifeguard course taking just a few hours to complete, we hope that parents will encourage their children to attend and swot up on essential lifeguarding skills.'
The Tyro Lifeguard Course takes place at the Lifeguard Station, between the Pier and Wish Tower, with morning and afternoon sessions on August 3,5, 26 and 28. For more information or to book a place, contact the Lifeguard Station 01323 412290.
