Mumm-Ra The Everliving, Indeed Not Dead

The corpse of Bexhill's favourite ex-pop group Mumm-Ra lurched back into life recently, fulfilling the Everliving prophecy of its name.

After a few weeks of hints on their old MSN site, the group posted a bulletin from MySpace on January 25. Under the heading 'MUMM-RA 8 Year Annivesary!' (sic) they wrote, 'Today... if you are in the know you will find us in the usual haunts around bexhill today. If not then wish us a happy anniversary! amen, mumm-ra the everliving'

Mumm-Ra were famed in their home town for marking each January 25 with a series of spontaneous outdoor gigs at such favoured spots as the Polegrove recreation ground, Manor Gardens, Ravenside Retail Park, and Galley Hill.

East's fearless reporters noted, however, that it was raining that evening, and stayed home in the warm. If you located Mumm-Ra at the weekend, why not add your Comments below?

Looking to the future, Mirrors , the band formed by Mumm-Ra's Noo and Tate, began 2009 with a Guardian recommendation from MGMT publicist Ash Collins, praising their 'pop noir' sound, and adding 'Nobody else is doing this kind of thing, really.'

Check out this clip of Mirrors' lush electro-pop tune Look At Me to hear what caught his ear.
