Festival of Sacred Music
Musica Sacra, the Hastings Festival of Interfaith Music, comes to the White Rock Theatre in February, for an evening celebrating the sacred music of six major faiths.
The concert on February 28 will include performances from Hindu dancers; Buddhist songs and chants from the Amaravarti Buddhist Monastery; the Sikh sword dance with Jungra Bhangra; Muslim Sufi chanting; traditional Jewish songs from the London Orthodox Choir; and Christian celebration from the London Orthodox Choir.
The event climaxes with a composite piece by Roger Wilcox, featuring all the different religions performing together. There follows a multi-ethnic buffet, for audience and performers to chat informally about their faiths.
Tickets are available from the White Rock Theatre box office 01424 462288, £12/£10 concessions (including buffet).
