Eastbourne Flood Warnings

Eastbourne is threatened by flood warnings and road closures after unseasonably heavy rainfall overnight.

The Environment Agency has issued flood warnings for several rivers, including the Ouse at Barcombe, Lewes; the Cuckmere and Bull at Hellingly, Hailsham; and the confluence between the Uck and the Ouse at Isfield, Uckfield.

The A27 Westbound at Polegate had been closed due to the rainfall, but was open again by the morning.

The Met Office has since lifted its Severe Weather Warning for the region.
