Some of us at East got quite carried away last year with a tidal wave of hype surrounding snotty Hastings psycho-punks The Riddles, leading to a few verbal spats between belligerent front-man Jimi Riddle and some of the magazine’s less-convinced writers. After we tipped them for 2008, The Riddles promptly did the smart thing and vanished, but we’re pleased to see this uncompromising footage of new London band The Traitors , playing their debut gig at the Boston Arms on December 16, one day after they formed. Any resemblance of guitarist Penny Traitor to Jimi Riddle is surely coincidental; any resemblance of bassist Frus Traitor to Babyshambles’ Drew McConnell even more so...
