Coastal Currents returns with cliff-top open air event
Hastings’ month-long arts festival Coastal Currents is back for its ninth year promising another feast of edgy and accessible events.
The event, which features out door productions in Hastings Castle’s ruins, runs from Friday August 29 to Sunday September.
This year’s highlights include:-
Fair Maid of the South East, a swashbuckling tale of pirates and romance, performed at Hastings’ Castle (Friday September 5 and Saturday September 6)
Shakespeare in the Park presenting an abridged version of A Midsummer Night’s dream, performed in the beautifully restored St Leonards Gardens, which will be open for picnicking beforehand (Saturday September 20 and Sunday September 21)
Late & Live (Thursday September 4) looking set to be the biggest and best yet, giving all a chance for free family fun at the end of the summer holidays, featuring, amongst others, Le Grand Peepshow, Dragon Heart Beat and the mysterious Wildman.
