-Parking Machine Vandalism

A number of the Borough Council’s car park ticket machines were vandalised last week.

Machines were targeted at Butt’s Brow and Beachy Head, where they were smashed with a wooden pole.

The incidents have been reported to the police and it is hoped that the machines will be back in working order by Friday.

Cabinet spokesperson for the environment, Councillor Steve Wallis says 'This is a clear act of wanton vandalism that cannot be tolerated and we must all hope the culprits are reprimanded as soon as possible. Unfortunately this kind of act is a real inconvenience to visitors and costs the council tax payers a great deal of money to repair the damage.'
