With Christmas hurtling towards us like a dynamite propelled snowball, East Sussex has several jam packed weeks of seasonal entertainment ahead.

Throughout December Hastings musicians are out in force showing just why the town’s music scene is going from strength to strength. East’s festive cover star Logan Wilson plays Porters on December 13. For more on The Logan Wilson Band see feature one in the mag. On the same night writer to the stars Blair MacKichan and friends are entertaining visitors to The Black Market with their eclectic mix of musical treats. Take a look at our music listings in the mag and online for details on many more pre-xmas gigs.

For those wanting a good old chuckle, Red Dwarf star Hattie Hayridge makes an appearance at Venue M as part of the monthly Laugh It Up line-up. Her new show was a massive success at this year’s Edinburgh Fringe Fest. For Eastbourne comedy goers John Gordillo is the man to see, coming to the Eagle Pub on December 23. Expect animated delivery and a highly intelligent act.

Its traditional panto-mania both sides of the region, with former Eastender and singer Michelle Gayle heading the White Rock’s colourful version of Sleeping Beauty, and Only Fools and Horses star Sue Holderness (Marleeeen) playing the Wicked Enchantress in Beauty and the Beast at the Devonshire Park. Iconic Bexhill venue the De La Warr Pavilion hosts an entirely different seasonal stage show, with circus-dance hybrid Acrobats and Angels. Clubbers also have a veritable heap to look forward to including an all-out dance fest at EB’s Funktion Rooms on December 22. Hard house luminary BK and drum and bass deity Mampi Swift join producers and promoters from across the region in a full on night of quality clubbing. It’s silky smooth grooves for Hastings night spot Fluid as Urban Fever present their Christmas bash. DJs Luck, Flex and Snake offer up the best in R&B hip hop and garage on December 23.

Mounds of entertaining and diverse events all squished into a few mere weeks. Don't want to miss out? Better get crack(er)ing.
