Star Finalists Chosen

The Eastbourne heats are over. And 12 acts have been selected to go through to the town’s final of the British Resorts Association Search For A Star.

For three Sundays in August the judges had the difficult task of picking the very best of a high standard set in the heats this year. The winner of Eastbourne’s final on Sunday September 10th will be the town’s representative in the National Final to be held at the Congress Theatre on Saturday November 25th.

The chances of finding a home-grown representative are high with acts going through from Eastbourne, Pevensey Bay, Hailsham and Newhaven, but it will be a tough competition.

The fun is over, the mediocre (and sometimes dreadful) acts have been whittled out and only the cream are left. But of course there will be fun as well.

The ever popular Brighton drag queen Ricky Royale from Hove is through. This year – his 15th in the competition – Ricky took everyone by surprise with a new mini frock and new song.
