Screaming Blue Murder Comedy
September might be the month to go out and buy yourself a pair of vinyl underpants or a discreet colostomy bag, because as of Friday September 1, Eastbourne’s outstanding comedy night, Screaming Blue Murder, is back at the Winter Garden.
After taking a summer sabbatical, the popular comedy night is back and judging from the opening nights line up, you will be wetting your pants with laughter.
Top of the bill is Stephen Grant, a comedian The List described as “A ball of hilarious energy” and “f**king funny” by Viz, whose observational comedy and lightening fast improvisational skills are of the highest order.
Stephen, who has previously supported Steve Coogan and Ben Elton, has received plaudits for his high energy routine from many quarters including comedy royalty, Harry Enfield.
Accompanying him on the bill is seasoned funny man Ben Norris, who has performed stand-up all over the world, from Abu Dabi to the Isle of Wight, and has performed on a multitude of TV shows including the BBC’s Stand Up Show, Channel 4s Gas and Paramount and Channel 5 show The Comedy Store.
Ben, cousin of Martin Freeman (Tim in Ricky Gervais’s hit show The Office), has become a regular favorite TV audience warm up man for the likes of Jonathan Ross and Graham Norton and has written gags for Paul Kaye on BBC 2's Liar and Jimmy Carr for E4s Your Face Or Mine.
Completing the bill is Otiz Cannelloni, described by The Comedy Store as the comics comic and can be best described as children’s entertainer meets crazed magician.
Holding it all together is compere Dan Evans, described by The Times as “original and inventive.”
