Coastal Currents In Full Swing
Coastal Currents, the festival which celebrates arts, drama and live performance gets into full swing in Hastings this weekend.
The festival, now in its seventh year, boasts an impressive and unashamedly arty line up that includes the black humour of the Turner Prize nominated Chapman Brothers and maverick author/singer/poet/painter Billy Childish, who was described by The Guardian as ‘Britain’s greatest cultural asset.’
A spokesman for organisers Thirty-Six-Hours, specialists in combined arts and music festivals, says: ‘This year will be a good one for spotting the extraordinary within the ordinary, as artists and performers pop up all over
the town creating enigmatic installations within the urban landscape.’
The event kicked off yesterday (Thursday) and runs throughout September with the majority of events being free.
