Eastbourne will become a gastronomic haven this October, with people coming from all over the country to sample Sussex’s finest food and drink at the town’s new food festival.

The imaginatively titled Feastbourne kicks off with the Beer Festival, then continuing with ten days of food fanaticism, from October 13 - 22.

It is designed to showcase local restaurants, pubs, hotels, retailers, producers, farmers and anyone else with an interest in food and drink.

‘With its ideal setting of countryside and coast, Sussex is a haven for fresh produce and fine food,’ said Eastbourne Borough Council Spokesperson for Tourism, Councillor David Elkin.

‘It is a privilege for Eastbourne to hold such a celebration and anyone with a passion for food and drink will be in their element. We look forward to welcoming this as an annual event in Eastbourne’s calendar.’

A variety of events are planned across town, including a waiter dash through Terminus Road, an exploration of vegetables past and present, and panel discussion ‘A Question of Wine’.
