The Chinese State Circus will dazzle down town for a full line-up of action packed shows and world-class performers on August 3 to August 8.

Masters of deadly martial Arts, the Shaolin Wushu Warriors, will join forces with artistes from the internationally acclaimed Peking Opera, and a cast of Chinese acrobatic stars, for a lavish and thrilling show specially assembled for the first time outside of China.

Features include a human chandelier, jar juggling, hoop diving, pole jumping, high wire walkers, dancing dragons, a candelabra contortionist, Peking Opera characters, and stunts from the Shaolin Warriors.

Audiences will be stunned as they witness live performances that use no special effects or trickery, just pure skills that often stretch the limits of human achievement.

‘Undoubtedly the most exciting and colourful circus to tour the UK in 2006’, said a spokesperson for the production.

The spectacular new line-up celebrates ancient Chinese culture and the origins of one of the world's best-loved circuses.

Shows will run Thursday to Saturday and Monday at 3pm and 7.45pm, and Sunday and Tuesday at 2pm and 5pm.

Located in the Theatre Big Top, Princess Park, Royal Parade.

Advance bookings on 0870 833 0002.

Box Office opens on site from August 1, 9am to 9pm.

The Chinese State circus is presented by The European Entertainment Coorperation.
