Café Blue is set to stage an exciting night of live music, bringing together some of the town’s most exciting talent, all in the name Fair trade.

The gig, on Wednesday September 6, includes Acoustic Collective, Nick Webb, lead singer of Fracture, Gary Page, Mark Marler, Glavion and recently East-featured, The Crayons.

The musicians are hoping people will not only come to see the music but also support the campaign. Mark from Glavion, a band that creates a sublime fusion of rock, electronica, dance and funks says: ‘Fairtrade in Eastbourne
needs continuous support to increase its profile. We’re very happy to help promote it. And it’s also always a pleasure to play a local gig!’

A new supporter of the cause is pop maestro Gary Page, who will also be performing on the night. He says: ‘I must admit I knew little about Fairtrade until recently. But since then I have read up on it and although I'm no expert, I feel it's a great cause.’

‘At times it seems Eastbourne can seem apathetic to issues like Fairtrade so hopefully there will be a good show of support from Eastbourne folk.’

The event aims to help raise funds and boost the profile of the campaign for Eastbourne to be awarded Fairtrade Town status.

Fair trade is all about helping the third worlds disadvantaged producers of goods such as fruit, coffee and cocoa, get a better deal in a market dominated by corporate juggernauts.

So, if you thought it was the exclusive domain of stars like Coldplay’s Chris Martin, whilst swanning around the various stadiums of the world, it’s time to become enlightened and get yourself down to Café Blue.

The gig starts at 8pm and there will be a donation on the door.
